Shaking

Shaking
I can't shake you
You are in my dreams
On like a light switch
But off is broken

I do not relinquish power
At least, not by choice
But you exist in my contiguous days
And constantly in my dreams
You interrupt me at the book store
when I see a book with gold embossed leather in an Egyptian design.
You creep into me through my favourite songs
when the words tug our souls together
You cuddle up next to me and when I feel better
I inevitably imagine spreading your legs to slip my tongue inside so I can taste you

You are more beautiful and extraordinary
Every time we talk
Every time I see you
Every time I feel you
But I'll never know if it's the real you or just parts of you

Love, love, love
A word of curses and excesses
Pure dross to despise
Love does not exist
But the word does not fully encompass
How I feel about you.

I've got to be rid of you
I've got to turn you off
I've got to shake you
So I build a wall between us
But I still touch myself when I think of you
And shake when I come...
